Another organisation which also contribute to Internet Safety And Security. - The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). IWF works in partnership with Government, Industry & Police to minimise the availability of illegal content online (specifically child abuse images). Via their website they operate a ‘hotline’ where you can report details of such content you may have been exposed to

Those are interesting sites for internet safety and security. However in my personal opinion, what is lacking is advocacy. I had not known myself those sites and measures if I did not drop by this blog. High traffic sites to include social networking sites must be in the front line in advocating internet safety and security which is inherent to their social responsibility.

I feel that before any transmission, it’s important for a Web site to tell you how your information is protected and also what safety precautions it takes to prevent outsiders from “hacking” into its customer databases. This is just to prevent from abusing the information.
