Lets face it, the computer industry is the fastest changing market today. To keep fully up to date with your computer you either have to purchase a new one every 6 months, or upgrade most of it every 6 months. It is much more cost effective to not worry about staying right on track with the newest computer parts for two reasons, first: it is really expensive ton continuously upgrade and buy a new computer, second: buying a slightly older computer is usually much cheaper because prices go down. So the time has finally come to buy a new computer, but you want to save as much money as possible without downgrading much. How can you achieve both?

By far the cheapest way to buy a new computer is to build it yourself. It is not difficult to do once you fully understand how everything works. Simply purchase the right parts either online or in a store and if they are compatible they will fit together perfectly. Buying the most expensive parts online is the best choice because online stores almost always offer much lower prices. Building a computer can be fairly simple if you know what you are doing, or if you have a friend who would be willing to help, but not everyone has the skills necessary to custom build a computer.

Another cheap way to buy a new computer is from Dell Outlet. Dell Outlet sells refurbished, reconditioned, and open-box Dell computers. Anytime someone buys a Dell computer and realizes they ordered the wrong thing they will usually return it, and that computer will then be sold on Dell Outlet. Also, if a computer is found to have a hardware problem it is sent back to Dell and then fixed up. Once the computer has been completely repaired it is then sold on Dell Outlet with a full warranty. The best part about Dell Outlet is the price. Because these are not technically “new” computers they sell them for much less than they would normally cost, but you will never be able to tell the difference between refurbished and new. If you are shopping on Dell Outlet you have to be fast because their best deals on computers always go fast. Dell Outlet is a great way to buy a Dell computer at a much lower price, and you don’t have to worry about building your own computer.

Of course the last, most common way to buy a computer is to simply order it from a company like Dell, HP, or even buy one in a store. Buying pre-built computers like this is the most expensive because not only are you paying for the computer, you are paying for the convenience as well as the labor. Before buying a computer it is important to look at all the specifications before spending any money. Whether you are custom building, buying refurbished or buying a pre-built computer always look at company reviews, product reviews and overall satisfaction.

In this article I’m going to talk about starting and promoting a social network. Social networks are groups that people can go to or attend and become a part and exchange social interaction. These groups can range in different ways and things. Social groups can be online where you meet in a chat room or a group on a site such as MySpace or some other forum. Or social networking can be a face to face thing, The face to face social networks I find are the best, and are the most effective way to do things. They are fun, exciting, fresh and new. So let talk about that first.

First you need to find something that interests you. Something that could interest you could be a business that your running, a job type, a hobby, etc. Once you find the thing that you like you will need to find a place to host your social network. The best types of places I’ve found are place like coffee shops, etc. I know of a coffee shop in Denver that allows you to have gatherings here free as long as everyone buy drinks. Think of that! I’m sitting in that shop right now. So you find a place that you can host at, some places to look also are bars, restaurants, libraries, social clubs and more. You find the place now you need to promote it, and that’s the heart of what this article is all about.

Promoting your network can happen in a variety of ways. For any social network to be productive you need to have good promotion. One way is word of mouth, say you’re starting a computer interest group. Look for techie and tell them, and tell there theres going to be free food or there’s going to be other things there. This will bring and drive attention to your group, then tell them to tell their friends about what you have going, the word will spread quickly.

The next thing I’d suggest you do is some online advertising. Places like Craig’s list allows advertising for free. You can actually go on their sites and post social gatherings and groups without having to pay money. Chats that are centered on specific areas are also awesome places to post advertisements. Next thing I would look at is print media. There are many options for print media. You can put things in magazines and newspapers that are dedicated to the type of group your starting. Like for instance hackers (whether ethical or not) can advertise in 5280 the hacker magazine for free. Or look at things like sections in your local newspaper. So no matter the budget you have, you can start a social network cheaply and at a good rate. I’m looking forward to seeing more groups pop up, start one today!

In the series of articles that you have seen on this site you’ve heard a lot about personal social networking. Personal social networking is a different activity then business networking. Business networking is a whole completely different monster because when you business network your presenting your business not just yourself. And it’s a viable cost of social networking. Any business that wants to survive needs o network with other businesses, it’s the way of the future.

Business networking differs from personal networking in that you are trying to get a specific business across. When your networking for your own personal gain you are networking for yourself, you are advertising and trying to sell yourself. Now that essentially what business social networking is however its different. Your networking and advertising a business. So you’re looking at getting the name of your business out there. You do this for many different reasons.

What are the reasons why one would do business networking. Business networking can help you in finding suppliers for your businesses or different prices for different things that need to be done. Business networking can especially and I mean especially find you new clientele. This should be the biggest reason is to find new clientele and customers. Hiring is done a lot through social networking as well. You can find some of the biggest and brightest name for your business through business social networking.

So now that we’ve established what is business social networking, and why a business may want to do this, let’s look at cost. The cost for networking your business on a social level can be very cheap or very expensive. First let’s talk about the expensive ways, I choose to do this so you can understand the most expensive ways first. Joining business associations are a big way of doing this. Joining something like “the webhosting association of America, etc” can cost a lot of money. The range of joining business associations can range from fifty dollars to hundreds of dollars. Now why would I do this? This adds some prestige to your business being part of a distinguished group. It also opens you up to conventions and other events that happen all through the year. I’ve made many a sale by attending conventions in this manner. There’s also another powerful way of doing this. Going to things such as the local chamber of commerce and small business associations. This costs a lot of money to do, thousands most of the time. However you get invited to special exclusive mixers and parties. This is the bread and butter of social networking, this is where you can make a lot of money because you’re dealing with people who obviously have money and many are looking for your service and hire from within. Now the cheaper ways of doing this? Going to free seminars and classes that people could be offering for your field, or by just hanging out in a coffee shop or places were professionals go. You wouldn’t believe how many cards you can hand out by doing this. So no matter how you do things, you can make money for your business simply by providing your card at special events.

Social Networking is such a huge thing these days. In person, on the internet, and now you can carry it with you. That’s right, on your phone. You now have the ability to network while say on the bus, on the job (though its trouble if your boss catches you.), you have the ability to network wherever and whenever. Think I’m lying? Fifty million people this year around the globe will be getting into social networking via the phone. By the time we get to 2011 its going to be up to one hindered and seventy four million people.

What are the reasons for this increase? Well one of the factors in this increase is the fact that now more than ever people have access to the broadband web. Fifteen years ago it was barely heard of to have a slow mo dial up connection. Now I don’t hardly know anyone myself who has anything less than DSL, with cable being the average and the super geek running with T1 lines. The fact that you can now have internet on your cell phone is also a big factor into why people are interacting via social networks through the phone.

Take for instance the company Helio. It’s a small up and coming cell phone which boasts some of the best phones in the business. Not only that they have some awesome services and an awesome web browser. In fact this web browser says it’s so fast that sometimes It beats your home networks connection. Now look at what they provide on their phones, you can access MySpace directly. Imagine that. Directly you can access MySpace, say your in the club hanging out with some of your fave friends and you want to advertise this online or make photos easier for them to get, well MySpace on Helio is to the rescue. You take the picture with that six megapixel phone and then you can upload it directly to MySpace and put it on your profile all in the club.

Looking at other companies they are not behind on this craze either. A lot of people may have heard of a company that’s getting bigger and bigger called cricket communications. Cricket phones are so big because of the fact that you can call and talk and text all day cheaper than the other services. You can do it unlimitedly and it doesn’t require any credit checks to get with them either. And so while they may not be Helio, they offer the net to their customers as well. Look at what they have… MySpace mobile, m3 communities, ad much much more. Even on a phone service that’s been touted as being cheap there are people that can connect to the webs mobile communities.

This is the future of networking. Imagine networking on the phone and web at the same time your networking in person, this is an amazing ability! So look forward to the new era of networking, it’s in the palm of your hand.
