The iPhone, specifically the team behind iPhone (hello Steve Jobs), has given us many reasons to ditch this mobile phone slash multimedia tool slash somewhat pocket PC platform. It’s finicky like a high maintenance girl friend and at the same time it has the temper of a boorish boy friend.

At the top of the reasons list is the fact that it is a very restrictive phone and unless you lock it, you remain with AT&T. What if you are a Sprint or a Verizon user? No sir, you have to switch to Cingular turned AT&T or else you can not use the iPhone. Second, it has a number of bugs you have to deal with that you get tied up with the customer service line for an hour or two just trying to get the darned thing fixed.

That is why the Apple iPhone team keeps on releasing latest iPhone updates to keep us consumers hold on to the phone after our initial attraction to this one of a kind mobile sweet body has faded. As they say, beauty fades but hardware and software capacity is endless. So what are the latest iPhone updates nowadays?

Aside from the fact that the Apple iTunes store has released more third party applications that we can definitely use, some of the latest iPhone updates are as follows.

One, the team has finally fixed the call dropping and the phone crashing problem that seem to keep on happening to a handset that has a lot of third party applications installed. It was beginning to get annoying but thank goodness that has been fixed.

Two, the issue of the scary “Blue Screen” appearing when the iPhone (or iPod or iTouch) is plugged to a PC that has a Windows Vista operating system was also remedied. No longer will your heart thump for a couple of nerve wracking seconds when the “Blue Screen” pops up.

Three, iPhone’s text messaging speed and contacts list loading speed has also improved. No more waiting time for you while you message your husband to pick up the dry cleaning and you will no longer wait feverishly while you search for that hot chick’s number hoping that you were not too drunk to forget to ask her digits.

Four, we all know how whacked the accuracy of the 3G signal of this mobile phone. Bar code says that the signal is at the maximum level but you still are having a hard time with the 3G. Well worry no more as the display is now more accurate. It would have been better if the Apple people would address the strength of the signal for us to have a better 3G reception but let them work on that for their next update.

Five, like Motorola’s mobile phones, the Apple iPhone will now also have repeat alerts for messages received.

All these latest iPhone updates plus a whole lot more on security patches and mobile phone security are all available on the iPhone 2.1 updated software.

There has been quite an extensive round of debate on Google preparing to launch a mobile phone. It was also heard that the search engine giant is meeting up top-notch cell phone manufacturers to make a start on the wireless front. It was pretty much expected out of Google as a take on its long time rival-Apple. Very recently, Google has partnered with its direct competitor, Apple for providing maps and some other applications for the iPhone.

According to the latest report published on the Wall Street Journal, Google has formulated an archetype mobile phone that could possibly hit the markets by next year with strong marketing plans such as advertisements on websites and some popular software applications. It might also come up with unlimited usage plans in order to lure the target audiences in switching to the Google phone. At the moment, Google is looking around for the right model in compliance with a lot of big names when it comes to network operations. It is almost on completion, with some alterations on the technical side to make a unique web browsing experience on the mobile that can outdo its competitors.

There are some who claim the Google phone thing to be nothing more than a rumor, but the records show that the same kinds of rumors existed before the launch of the apple’s iPhone. On the whole, there is a lot of cynicism about Google’s feasibility in the cellular market. Techno giants like Google can with all possibility work on different projects and remain in the beta stages for a long time. There are also speculations on the revenue-generating model as each Google phone will have to go through a lot of advertisement and that might end up frustrating the users. As far as the Google phone is concerned, there are a lot of questions amongst the technology world but there are awfully few answers. But the only thing certain is the use of several Wi-Fi networks that cater to those civilians who do not mind a range of advertisements for getting free web connections. Google is already working out something with the mobile phone carriers like T-Mobile and Verizon. And it has also commented on bidding for a wireless license in the United States, which could turn out to be the first step towards acquiring a cellular network.

Obviously, in the coming months, Google will surely make a move ahead based on the company’s priorities. It will put some tremendous marketing plans for the people so that it can dominate the mobile market all by itself. But at the moment, it’s just the rumor and nothing officially cited by Google. It has openly refused of coming up with a phone with its own brand. So there is still sometime before we get to see the actual Google phone in the mobile world.
